Compression garments provide gradient compression, a gradually decreasing amount of pressure as you go up the leg, to help relieve leg pain, varicose veins, and prevent and reduce swelling.
People who are, or have any of the following conditions can benefit from compression therapy:
- Expectant mothers
- Tired, aching, fatigued legs
- Swollen feet, ankles, and legs
- Mild to moderate swelling
- Stand or sit for long periods
Compression is measured in mmHg, millimeters of mercury, which is a measurement of pressure and is available in both non-medical (over-the-counter) grade and Medical Grade, prescribed by a physician.
|8 – 15mmHg||20 – 30mmHg (medical class 1)|
|15 – 20 mmHg||30 – 40mmHg (medical class 2)|
|–||40 – 50mmHg (medical class 3)|
The garments are available in a variety of lengths including knee high, thigh high, and panty hose / legging, as well as arm and calf sleeves.
At TiredSole™, our certified fitters will measure you to ensure you have the proper sizing, compression level, and will discuss the options available based on your personal needs.
Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI)
The ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI) or ankle-brachial index (ABI) is the ratio of the blood pressure at the ankle to the blood pressure in the upper arm (brachium).
At TiredSole™ we have a portable ABI that conducts fast, accurate ABI screenings in minutes to assist with the early detection of Peripheral Arterial Disease (P.A.D.).
The whole test process takes less than 15 minutes and is available both in-clinic and as a mobile visit. You will receive a written report of your results and may be covered by your extended medical insurance.
