Toe bracing with bracenfix™

Ask TiredSole™ about bracenfix™, a non-surgical nail correction system designed for curved-in (involuted) and ingrown toenails. Your nurse will assess your nail concern and discuss whether this option is appropriate for you.

What is it?

The manufacturer describes a system that uses a primer and composite materials set with an LED light. It is applied to the nail to support nail correction as the nail grows. The brace application itself does not involve nail surgery or injections.

Suitability, comfort, treatment time and follow-up vary. An assessment comes first; a brace is not the right choice for every nail problem.

What happens at an appointment?

  • Discuss your symptoms, health history and previous nail treatments.
  • Ask your nurse to explain the proposed care, fees and follow-up before you decide.
  • If a brace is recommended, receive instructions for looking after it and arranging review.

Could extended health benefits cover it?

Toe bracing may be covered by some extended health benefit plans. Ask your insurance provider before booking. Coverage is not guaranteed and depends on your plan, the service and the treating professional.

Ask whether your plan covers toe bracing provided by a foot care nurse, whether a referral or prescription is required, what receipts or documentation you need, and whether there are limits. Contact the clinic if your insurer needs service or provider details.
